Summer Vintage Dining, al fresco!

June 2024

Folks who live in the sunny southwest are blessed to be able to dine outdoors for many months of the year. Countless of our neighbors have wonderful BBQ stations and glass Dining Tables in their backyards. Ours is no different (though we have since changes out our dining table to a wrought iron set). NO NEED for those ugly paper plates and plastic cups to serve guests.  PULL OUT THE VINTAGE GLASS!  I have since sold this dish set, but it was comprised of the following pieces:
4 - 1970s KIG Fruit Embossed 10.25" Dinner Plates
4 - 1990s Libbey Glass Orchard Fruit Clear Iced Tea (or water) Goblets
1 - 1950s Federal Glass Pioneer Clear w/embossed Fruit 11” Salad Bowl
1 - 1960s Tiara (Indiana) Clear Glass 7" Pickle Boat
1 - 1970s Princess House Fruit Embossed 6" Olive Bowl
1 - 1960s Made in France Fruit Embossed Compote
1 - 1940s Westmoreland Glass Della Robia Clear Pedestal Plate
1 - 1950s Hazel Atlas Clear Glass Apple-shaped Lidded Sugar Bowl
1 - 1950s Indiana Glass Fruits Clear Divided Tray.

In keeping with the “sea life” or “ocean" theme of my placemats, I served Shrimp off the BBQ (center platter) with Cocktail Sauce (center bowl); a cold Crab salad (large bowl in front); pickle slices (small oval bowl); ripe, pitted olives (small round bowl); and fresh cut vegetables (divided tray).  The small apple bowl contained sugar since I served sun-brewed iced tea as the beverage.  The main course was, naturally, rib-eye steaks, hot off the grill. Dinner Rolls and Butter were served on 2 pieces of Wilton Armetale I own (not shown in the photograph).
