We received (decades ago) a stunning needlepoint that the gifted mounted in a serving tray instead of a wall frame (top photo). A recent Thrift Store find netted me a colorful patriotic-themed needlepoint for the sweet price of $10 (bottom left photo). As our family room is filled with blue furniture and accented with red and white, I decided I would frame my thrift find as a serving tray for our coffee table instead of hanging it in a wall frame. Tray frames can be purchased from craft shops for this purpose, but as I found, they can be quite expensive (upwards of $70-$80) and almost always in brown wood. I am taking an alternate route. I purchase a barnside wood red frame from the online company ArtToFrames for $43 (bottom right photo). Then I picked up two Amerock Highland Ridge Handle Cabinet Pulls in Champagne Bronze for $28 and learned cabinet hardware is not cheap (bottom right photo). I will have hubby drill 2 holes in each end of the frame (on the top, not the sides) so I can insert the screws from the backside of the frame to the front and attach the cabinet handles.
